Track 1 – Have any of your students asked you to be more like Sunny Bridges ? Read reviews of Class of 3000 created by Andre 3000 of Outkast starring him as a music teacher.
Track 2 – Here’s a great collection of blogs that contain opera mp3s.
Track 3 – This online program tests your ability to hear and recall musical phrases to determine if they are the same or different. It might be interesting to have students record their own performances several times and then have them break up the recordings into phrases to allow their peers to compare and contrast them. The nice thing about this test is that it is somewhat contextualized unlike so many aural skills software where individual intervals are played to be identified.
Track 4 – Are these children in your music program? How many of our students are playing in rock concerts outside of school? Is there a place in your program for them?
Track 5 – After checking out Brenda Hutchinson’s Long Tube instrument why not have a conversation with the teachers in your technology department and start planning on creating some similar instruments for your students to perform?
